You can't use svg files with the free version of silhouette studio, but by converting svgs to dxf files, you can use them without upgrading to the designer. Open the file you would like to convert. The conversions are not 100% error free, see known issues. Convert the silhouette studio file format to the svg format as used by inkscape and other vector editing applications. You must have the upgraded de version of the software to be able to import svg files.
